East / GMS Website Update - 07 October 2022
Further to our note earlier in the week, England Hockey have been making good progress with their providers as well as other experts in the field, as such the system will be going fully live over the next 24hours.
Following discussions amongst the ALMC and wider East Area committee we have decided to delay implementation of full GMS teamsheet and result recording on the live system until Match weekend 4 where most games take place on the 15th October.
We've made the decision to delay the implementation for one week to give clubs the chance to catch up on the last minute items that were underway before the system started to fall over 3 weeks ago. As a reminder clubs should have:
- Club Admins Registered
- Primary Admin Allocated who can then allocate team admins
- Team admins allocated to all teams
- Fixtures entered up to Christmas
- Players & Umpires registered
- Transfers processed (still done through GMS support at this point)
We decided a lot of this would be easier to do, particularly player registration, over the weekend in a Club environment where you can support and help your players, hence the delay.
For this weekend Clubs should proceed as last weekend with results and paper team sheets submitted to their league managers. We are obviously aware that results will be postable on GMS directly by this point so if clubs are happy to do this we are happy for you to do so, however please make sure you also communicate with your league managers, they do still need the score and card information and the teamsheets so we have a complete set. There will be a requirement to go back and enter teamsheets for the last few weeks once the system is fully live so keep hold of the paper copies, this is also why we are only delaying one week to minimise doubled up effort.
GMS will be fully live for this weekend and some other regions will be using it to its full extent, this means it will be fully stress tested in live environments with normal clubs using it. If there are any problems they will be identified and East will take that into consideration ahead of our "go-live", however should all go to plan we will be using GMS on the 15th, please take the time to make sure your clubs are in a position to use it.
