Bill Felton
The death of Bill Felton, at the age of 83, will have been learned with great sadness by his friends throughout the hockey world and beyond. He knew and remembered an enormous amount of people and was liked and respected by all.
Our condolences go to his daughter Julia and son Clive and all members of the family on their great loss.
Bill did an enormous amount for hockey at all levels serving in many capacities over the years. These included being the director of the HA’s Centenary Club and in this role did much to promote the support of the England teams and especially making welcome the families of the youth team players; President of the East Region Hockey Association; a technical delegate at national league and schools levels; a club and schools umpire and a keen supporter of Hertfordshire CHA and Broxbourne HC.
With his wife Maureen, who very sadly died in 2020, he travelled extensively in support of the Great Britain and England teams making friends with fellow hockey lovers from many countries. With Maureen he was a keen golfer while admitting that Maureen was the more accomplished player!
Hockey was lucky to have had Bill’s wholehearted support.
The funeral will be held at Wollensbrook Crematorium on Wednesday, 8th March at 10.00am followed by a joint Celebration of Life for both Bill and Maureen (who passed away during the Covid era) at Brickendon Grange Golf Club at 11.30am.
